UltraKey 5.0 Data Server Software
for North America

The Data Server software is a Windows service that may be installed on any Windows 2000, 2000 Server, 2003 Server, 2008 Server, XP, 2009 Server, Vista or Windows 7 system. The serving computer can be a teacher computer in the lab or it can be a server located anywhere in the school or district.
 
All-Mac schools and districts are successfully using the data server software to store data generated by Macintosh installations of the UltraKey 5.0 client. Please see the UltraKey School Guide to review the alternatives available to all-Mac schools and districts.
 
1.When you have read all these instructions, click Download now...
2.Make sure you are logged in to the computer as an administrator.
3.After you click Download now, accept any warnings your browser displays.
4.Choose Save when your browser offers.
5.The Data Server software must be installed directly on the serving computer. It cannot be installed from a workstation. Run the saved installer program on the target computer or server.
6.Accept default options but read carefully so you know what the installer is doing.
7.Start the service by running the Data Server Startup application from the Start menu.

VISTA and Win 7 Users: To initialize a software title, you must right-click the application and choose Run as Administrator. This is true even when you are logged in as an Administrator.
 
8.Activate the UltraKey 5.0 Data Server software by entering the trial license key you received from Bytes of Learning in the trial license email. A different key is required for the Server software than is required for the UltraKey client. The trial license key for the UltraKey client will not work.
