Overview

    

Foundation

  Teachers and parents have said they need a resource that provides students individual attention, guidance and hands-on writing experience. Writing Rules! will help teachers reach more students and proivide teachers a ready way to inspire, organize and review student writing. Writing Rules! will also help students who need extra help with writing mechanics such as those who are new to English.
    

Scope and Sequence

  Bytes of Learning has researched the writing curriculums for Ontario and most major States. By June 2008, modules will be available for all the specified writing skills. Writing Rules! addresses the full range of writing elements from basic punctuation and grammar, through to essay writing, report writing and more.
    

Process

  Writing Rules! offers a range of learning activities from highly structured lessons through explorative and creative activities. Writing Rules! also provides a writing forum in which students can share their writing with teachers, peers and mentors. Writing Rules! encourages students to evaluate their own writing and to rewrite their work with specific ways to improve.
    

Meeting a Range of Needs

  Different cultures, ages, and orientations are addressed with different content. Initially two strands are offered: one for younger students and one for more mature students.
    

User Records
and Learning Management

  Writing Rules! includes extensive detailed reports and analysis tools for educators, administrators and parents. Users can review extensive information about their own progress, rewarding them as they learn and encouraging them to keep learning.
    

Administration

  The Writing Rules! administration system has the full scope required for individual, class, school-wide and district-wide administration. The system minimizes cost of ownership, maximizes productivity, and provides full local control for every teacher in the district over his or her classes.
